Arm Lift (Brachioplasty)

After weight loss, many men are left with unsightly, loose-hanging skin on the upper arms. Exercise and a continued healthy diet will build the underlying muscle, but due to loss of elasticity, will do little, if anything, to tighten the skin. An arm lift (Brachioplasty) restores natural contour and sculpts the arms by removing excess skin. No more hiding in baggy, long sleeve shirts as your clothes will fit better and the results of exercise and your hard work will be more apparent.

During your consultation, Dr. Beck will discuss your exercise and weight loss history, current condition and ultimate goals to determine and plan the best course of action.  Arm lift surgery is performed as an outpatient procedure under mild general anesthesia, generally lasting 1.5-2 hours. To achieve the most sculpted look, Dr. Beck always performs Liposculpting of the surrounding musculature as a compliment the skin excision. Compression sleeves are worn over the arms for several weeks to protect the incisions while allowing a rapid return to basic activities. For most patients, light exercise may begin after two to three weeks with clearance for strenuous activities at six weeks.

Whether the upper arm lift procedure is done alone or as the grand finale to your major weight loss efforts, contoured arms can provide a significant boost in confidence and motivation for continued success.

Dr. Beck is a board certified plastic surgeon that specializes in surgical and non-surgical cosmetic procedures for men.
